Karen Ackerman graduated from George Washington University with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology. She then accepted a Dean's Scholarship to attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. While attending law school, Karen focused her studies in the area of family law and received the CALI award for excellence in her participation in Lawyering Process, a family law clinic at the Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Services. Since graduating from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Karen Ackerman has focused her practice on family law matters including support, custody, divorce, equitable distribution, protection from abuse, and adoption.
Karen Ackerman devotes her practice to providing individual and affordable professional legal services to individuals involved in family law and domestic relations matters in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, and Westmoreland Counties. She prides herself in the individualized attention she is able to provide for clients. Karen understands the importance of amicably resolving as many issues as possible with the opposing party, and Karen possesses the knowledge and confidence to aggressively pursue her client's goals and to protect his or best interests when a resolution cannot be reached passively.
Karen Ackerman is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association's Family Law Section, and has completed the training for Collaborative Law.
